James W. Royal, Sr.
James Walter Royal, Sr., died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Presbyterian Village in Macon. Mr. Royal lived most of his life in Savannah and the past few years in Macon. He was preceded in death by his wife Freddie Vickery Royal and his daughter Jacqueline Childs. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension and was retired as a Firefighter for the City of Savannah. He was a member of the National Guard and was also a member of the Boilermakers Union. He enjoyed bowling in his retirement years and maintaining his beautiful yard.
He is survived by two sons, James Royal, Jr. and his wife Claudia, of St. Simons, and John Royal, of St. Simons, step-daughters, Mary Owen, of Covington, and Joan Sterling and her husband Scott, of Culloden, GA. He is also survived by 7 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters and 12 great-grandsons.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
